Bellwort Viridian

Hello,

As a follow up to our conversation, below are the details. Viridians is into few things as a company.

Product Development

We are developing a product called as backstage. It is a collaboration / project management platform. Backstage handles:
1. Collaboration: Wiki, Tasks, Status, Calendar, File Center,
2. Alerts: Sends alerts to twitter, email, instant messenger, sms. We also plan live discussions through instant message and emails.
3. Project Management: Timesheets, Roles, Small Accounting,
4. Some new module called as Research Feeds.

We also have great ideas and analysis for other products for which we do not have time to complete. They will be executed as and when time permits.

1. Mosaic CRM
2. LaunchPad – A website which allows companies to launch their Software as a Service products by minimizing their to market time. In general it provides services like payment gateway integration, monthly billing, ordering, etc.

Viridians Entrepreneur Platform

We operate like Venture Capitalists, who seek out really great ideas, people, companies, NGOs, projects, etc at a very very early stage. What we are looking for is the following:
1. Attitude towards learning
2. Long term perspective instead of instant gratification
3. A promising idea
4. Some history of good work

Once we find such companies, we invest our money, technology, product management methodology, time, etc into your project to convert it into a product.

Presently, we are in process of adopting http://reloadbrain.com into Viridians Entrepreneur Platform. http://reloadbrain.com is like meebo and was developed by a single person. We plan to redevelop the whole core functionality from scratch and develop a completely new communications platform out of it for Enterprise applications. The idea is highly experimental.

I generally love poetry. 🙂 It was only last week, I met a poet in India and we decided to start a online poetry magazine + a social networking for poetry + a RSS aggregator for poetry. In this project, I am planning to invest my own money and get it moving…. because its for poetry! … but ROI is slower on this because initially all revenue is thru advertisements. But in case in year 2, crowd is growing and magazine getting some publicity, we can make it big….There are many many many competitors.. hence we simply plan to use RSS aggregrators, sign up to their own platforms and build up ‘BOT users’ of real world users Ex. Surinder has a blog in blogger.com on poetry. I will simply crawl his website, create a BOT Surinder and post his own poety live ….

Radio Viridian http://youtube.com/radioviridian

We believe to spread our knowledge, core code, culture as much as possible. The world is big for all of us. We are trying to create a youtube service for the same. It’s called Radio Viridian. It has three videos on our mindset. More videos are planned.

Viridians Partner Platform

All in all, we believe the market is VVVVVVVVV BIG for you / me / everyone…………. and hence we are v OPEN in sharing technology. (with some v basic restrictions). Hence we have the Viridians Partner Platform. In VPP, we tie up with small IT development companies who have a ruby on rails workforce to:
1. Partner with us on one of our products. The company invests time, effort, and a little money. When the product succeeds, the company owns a percentage of the product.
2. Partner with us on sharing technology: We co-develop a technology. Or exchange technologies.

Advantages to the company partnering with us.
1. We are open to sharing quite a bit of our technical know how and code. Generally many companies can reuse that code to sell projects.
2. We open our network to you. We maintain the Virdian Crowd.
3. After 6 odd months of interaction and learning, once the partner company is capable of executing projects for us at the quality we want we give partner companies higher priority while giving out projects. Example recently we gave out a $1000 project.
4. We often receive requests from people for portals. Since we are not into projects, we forward the requests to capable partners.
5. Cost consolidation: We buy virtual private clouds in some of the best webservers companies and share it with our partners for a cost. This way, our partners get world class servers at the webhosting cost they used to pay.
6. Training: We do hold lectures quite often on various topics. Plus generally someone in our network will know something about what you want to know.

My suggestion to you

Join us as partners for sometime, work with us – 1 person around 20 hours a week (insignificant to start off) for 2-3 months, we will come to know about each other, each other’s working skills, etc. Once we are comfortable with each other, we can scale up our operational relation for anything.

Regards

Picaso

Founded Microsoft together with Bill Gates
Biography

Attends World’s Fair at Seattle Center

At Lakeside School, Paul Allen (14 years old) and friend Bill Gates (12 years old) became early computer enthusiasts. Allen went on to attend Washington State University, though he dropped out after two years to pursue his and Gates’s dream of writing software commercially for the new “personal computers”.

Allen and Gates and a small group of other Lakeside students begin programming in BASIC, using a teletype terminal.

Helps teach computer course to junior high students at Lakeside.

Graduates from Lakeside; enrolls at Washington State University.

Allen and Gates buy an Intel 8008 chip for $360 and build a computer to measure traffic. They launch their first company, Traf-O-Data.

Hired as a programmer by Honeywell in Boston.

Allen and Gates write the first microcomputer BASIC for the Altair, a computer kit based on Intel’s new 8080 chip. They move to Albuquerque, N.M., where Altair’s producer MITS makes Allen its associate director of software. Allen divides his time between MITS and a new company he and Gates have started to develop and market microcomputer languages: Micro Soft.

Apple commissions Microsoft to supply a version of its BASIC for the hot-selling Apple II. Radio Shack buys a Microsoft BASIC for its TRS-80.

Microsoft moves from Albuquerque to Bellevue, Wash.
Microsoft agrees to develop and license DOS and BASIC to IBM for its new personal computer.

Gates and Allen discuss graphical user interfaces, planting the seeds that will become Windows.

Allen and Gates found Microsoft (initially “Micro Soft”) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and begin selling a BASIC interpreter. Allen spearheads a deal for Microsoft to buy an operating system called QDOS for $50,000. Microsoft wins a contract to supply it to for use as the operating system of IBM’s new PC. This becomes the foundation for Microsoft’s remarkable growth.

Allen was forced to resign from Microsoft in 1983 after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease which was successfully treated by several months of radiation therapy.

In 1984 he founded Asymetrix, a software development company based in Belleuve, Washington, to make application development tools that nonprogrammers can use. Asymetrix later went on to become Click2learn.com and yet later merged with Docent to become Sum Total System (2004). In the 1990’s the company began to specialize in software for developing and delivering computer-based learning.

1992 Allen started Starwave, a producer of online content sites. Starwave did such great work for ESPN SportsZone and ABCNews.com that Disney (NYSE: DIS) bought it for a total of $350 million.

1998 In April Allen buys Marcus Cable, the nation’s 10th largest cable company, for $2.8 billion–his biggest investment to date. Also this year Allen grabbed a stake of the Internet video-sales market with his purchase of Hollywood Entertainment. And he took another software group public. This time it’s Asymetrix Learning Systems, maker of products for online classes.

On September 28, 2000 – Microsoft Corp. announced that Paul Allen is assuming a new role as senior strategy adviser to top Microsoft executives. The company also announced that Allen and Richard Hackborn have decided not to seek re-election to Microsoft’s board of directors at the company’s November shareholder meeting.

In December 2003 he announced that he was the sponsor behind the SpaceShipOne private rocket plane venture from Scaled Composites, as part of the ANSARI X PRIZE competition. In June 2004, SpaceShipOne became the first successful commercial spacecraft when it passed the 100 kilometer threshold of space.

In September 2003, Allen founded the Allen Institute of Brain Science pledging $100 million in seed money to the Seattle-based organization. Its inaugural project is the Allen Brain Atlas, a map of the human brain which will be made publicly accessible. The Brain Atlas is a component of the loosely formed Human Cognome Project.

Starting in 2003, Vulcan Ventures began funding Project Halo, an attempt to apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to the problem of producing a digital Aristotle that might serve as a mentor, providing comprehensive access to the world’s knowledge.

Allen is a major contributor to the SETI, or Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence project.

He is also the founder of the Experience Music Project, originally inspired by his interest in a museum to house his considerable collection of Jimi Hendrix memorabilia.

Allen runs a venture capital firm, Vulcan Ventures, and has created the Experience Music Project, a museum of music history, in Seattle, Washington.

He owns (through Rose City Radio Corporation) some Portland radio stations. When he heard Seattle’s Cinerama movie theater was about to shut down, he bought, restored, and updated it into a showplace for movies of all formats. He is also one of the principal financiers behind the SETI project, having stepping in to rescue the project when NASA stopped funding it in the 1990s.

Allen owns the Flying Heritage Collection.

Currently Allen is the owner of the Portland Trail Blazers (an NBA basketball team) and the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He also owns Rose Garden Arena, the home court of the NBA Blazers team. Due to declining attendance in 2002 and 2003, as well as difficulties renegotiating the terms of a 1993 loan, the Rose Garden corporation filed for bankruptcy on February 27, 2004.

In June of 2004, Allen opened the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, located at the Experience Music Project.

Video Submission

Video Submission

“Videos help in conveying your message easily there by increasing your sales, improving your reputation and also

increasing website traffic.”

One of the most recent trends today in building backlinks and driving traffic to a website is video submission. This

process has of late become very popular among the savvy internet marketers as its easy to get started with it. Video

submission is a process where you create a video which can be purely text based or containing a power point

presentation and sound and then uploading and submitting this video to video submission sites. The video you create

can contain a description of your products or service offerings, new launches, or any other matter that is appealing

and can drive more traffic to your site.

The main idea behind video submission is that search engines assign more weightage to pages containing videos. For

instance, if you submit a video of your product on Youtube, then when anyone searches for that product on the

Internet, the possibility of your video showing in the top results is much higher when compared to not having any

video. Additionally, if you put a link pointing to your site in this video or under it, it can benefit you as well

as your site. This is because when people watch your video, they see your products or services in it and if they are

interested in what they see then they will visit your website to buy what they have seen and liked.

Advantages of Video Submission
Some of the key benefits of the video submission process are:
It helps in getting more traffic to your website.

It helps in building more backlinks for your site.

One video can be submitted to several video submission sites.

You can drive traffic from several video submission sites to which you have submitted your video.

Search engines give more weightage to videos.

How to create a video?
Since video submission is the most happening process to boost traffic to a site, it would be a good idea to start

creating a video if you don’t already have one. If you have any text based content with you, it can be converted

into a video by you speaking about it or creating a presentation out of it. However, it is important to keep in mind

that a video must be interesting enough to be able to capture the attention of your audience and keep them engaged.

It can also contain a demonstration of how users can use the product or particular software for their business.

How to gather content for your video?
Once you have chosen the topic you want to create a video on, you can then start talking about it before the video

camera. When you put yourself on the video, it adds a more personal touch and builds more credibility. Also, it

instills more trust in people and increases the chances of them connecting with you.

You can also create a video that contains the actions people need to take in order place an order for your product

or use it. This can be done using a screen capturing software that will record a video of your actions on the

computer. By demonstrating your ordering procedure, it will help people know how easy and secure it is to place an

order with you. This can benefit you by driving more sales.

Finding your audience
Once you have created your video, you need to upload and submit it to the video submission sites who will allow you

to host your video free of cost. You can check out sites like YouTube, AOL Video, Google Video, and many others and

sign up to create an account with them. Each of these sites will guide you on hosting your video, assigning keywords

to them, putting them under the correct category, etc. The main advantage of hosting your video on these video

hosting sites is that you will free up your own disk space and not take up the bandwidth of your web server.Video

Webpage design for SEO

Web Page Design

Web page design services are available here! If you are looking to establish your online web presence or enhance your existing pages please do not hesitate to contact us at Web Page Design SEO. Let us combine our design expertise with your business model for a rewarding partnership on the internet.

Professional Web Pages

What is required for a site owner to achieve their purposes and goals on the world’s largest stage? Obviously, there are various elements that make up a good quality website but a proper emphasis and balance of each is critical. Our services here are focused around you, the website owner, and your piece of real estate on the internet. With that in mind, let’s talk about a few important qualities of an effective website.

How many sites have you attempted to view only to nod off waiting for the first page to display? Or how many times have you visited a website that was overloaded with navigational links on the main page? First and foremost, a website must load quickly and be easy to navigate! Web surfers are savvy and usually know what they are looking for. Most will not wait around for a slow page to load and also do not like being overwhelmed by too many options in the form of links or multiple navigation choices. Good web page design begins on page one with simple professionalism.

Next, any serious internet site will be aesthetically appealing and offer quality content. Text that is too small or near the same color as its background is unreadable. This may seem obvious to most but poor font choices are common mistakes made by even big corporate sites. Flashy graphics or pictures that are too obtrusive take away from the website’s main feature which is the informational content that most people are looking for. Obviously, some web pages are intentionally designed to display vibrant photos and fancy graphics but, in general, a website will serve to inform first. Effective web page design, in this sense, involves being the best page for a particular topic by way of relevant authoritative content.

Finally, sound web page design requires patience and attention to detail as an excellent site is also a dynamic one. With over 30 billion pages availabe to the world, the internet is a highly competitve medium for any subject or venture that you can imagine. Your web pages will need an innovative strategy to remain fresh and up to date, therefore, allowing it to stand out.

Although there is much to consider when looking to win on the internet, it is not an impossible task. Please take the time to contact us at Web Page Design SEO for a free consultation and let us build a plan and set out on the road to success together.

Backlinks

Backlinks

Backlinks (or back-links [UK]) are incoming links to a website or web page. Inbound links were originally important (prior to the emergence of search engines) as a primary means of web navigation; today their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (though other measures, such as PageRank, are likely to be more important). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.
In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links. How to build Backlinks

It is out of question that quality backlinks are crucial to SEO success. More, the question is how to get them.

While with on-page content optimization it seems easier because everything is up to you to do and decide, with

backlinks it looks like you have to rely on others to work for your success. Well, this is partially true because

while backlinks are links that start on another site and point to yours, you can discuss with the Web master of the

other site details like the anchor text, for example. Yes, it is not the same as administering your own sites – i.e.

you do not have total control over backlinks – but still there are many aspects that can be negotiated.

Getting Backlinks the Natural Way

The idea behind including backlinks as part of the page rank algorithm is that if a page is good, people will start

linking to it. And the more backlinks a page has, the better. But in practice it is not exactly like this. Or at

least you cannot always rely on the fact that your contents is good and people will link to you. Yes, if your

content is good and relevant you can get a lot of quality backlinks, including from sites with similar topic as

yours (and these are the most valuable kind of backlinks, especially if the anchor text contains your keywords) but

what you get without efforts could be less than what you need to successfully promote your site. So, you will have

to resort to other ways of acquiring quality backlinks as described next.

Ways to Build Backlinks

Even if plenty of backlinks come to your site the natural way, additional quality backlinks are always welcome and

the time you spend building them is not wasted. Among the acceptable ways of building quality backlinks are getting

listed in directories, posting in forums, blogs and article directories. The unacceptable ways include inter-linking

(linking from one site to another site, which is owned by the same owner or exists mainly for the purpose to be a

link farm), linking to spam sites or sites that host any kind of illegal content, purchasing links in bulk, linking

to link farms, etc.

The first step in building backlinks is to find the places from which you can get quality backlinks. A valuable

assistant in this process is the Backlink Builder tool. When you enter the keywords of your choice, the Backlink

Builder tool gives you a list of sites where you can post an article, message, posting, or simply a backlink to your

site. After you have the list of potential backlink partners, it is up to you to visit each of the sites and post

your content with the backlink to your site in it.

You might wonder why sites as those, listed by the Backlink Builder tool provide such a precious asset as backlinks

for free. The answer is simple – they need content for their site. When you post an article, or submit a link to

your site, you do not get paid for this. You provide them for free with something they need – content – and in

return they also provide you for free with something you need – quality backlinks. It is a free trade, as long as

the sites you post your content or links are respected and you don’t post fake links or content.
