Halloween stymied

Amy Brearley

I’d been looking forward to making a Halloween costume. One of those well-designed, well-executed costumes that is fun to design, make and hear about (“love it!”). Instead, as seems to be the norm in parenthood, the boy threw me for a loop and fell in love with the one costume at the toy store that we don’t already own. We decided it was worth the investment since it will get dress-up use for the rest of year.

So I’ll just enjoy this drawing of a piggy bank instead. Since this is, apparently, how we roll.
